The island of Eleuthera is renown as a Do-It-Yourself bonefishing island but it is also home of one of the most renowned bonefish guides in the Bahamas.

Paul Petty grew up in Governor's Harbour and he inherited his bonefishing skills from his father - guide Gladstone Petty.

Although many flats can be accessed by car along Queen's Highway, the best flats will of course be the ones 'less traveled'. There's a definite difference in the attitude of these less experienced bonefish. Book a day with Paul and you'll get to see parts of Eleuthera that you wouldn't normally see & fish the fish that you wouldn't normally get to fish

All rates are based on 2 anglers. Paul operates a Boston Whaler and a Carolina Skiff.

A Day with Paul - The day begins with Paul picking you up at 8 a.m. He will provide a cooler for your use, so bring your drinks and lunch for the day. The tides throughout the day will allow for wade fishing and fishing from the boat. Paul likes to get out and wade the flats but when the water is too high, he's ready with the push-pole.

Paul's Advice - If you're fly fishing, a 7wt or 8wt rod is ideal. Gotcha and Charlie pattern flies are Paul's favorites (and the bonefish's also!) Paul's advice is to use flies with good quality hooks. Too often he has seen fish lost due to lesser quality hooks. Use a good saltwater hook. An example of a good quality hook is Mustad's Signature Big Game - Light in size 6 & 8. These hooks are sharp and strong. De-barbing the hook will insure a quick & safe release of the bonefish.
